Leon County schools and the Tallahassee branch of the NAACP celebrated the Martin Luther King holiday with an annual breakfast.

The School Board recognize children who display "the dream" each day at school.

Community leaders, school board members, two students from each Leon county school and their parents attended this morning's breakfast at the Civic Center in Tallahassee.

Each student honored with the "Peace and Positive Dreamers" Award. They were chosen for model peaceful behavior in school.

Florida Association of District School Superintendents Bill Montford presided over the breakfast and the speaker was School Superintendent Jackie Pons.

The message is of honoring the legacy, facing the challenge. Each child was presented with a certificate and hand shakes from community leaders, not to mention a full stomach.
