Major Areas of Interest Released

Most school districts across the Sunshine State will have an average of 130 choices.

Choices include Aerospace and Aviation, Math and Science, Education and Biotechnology.

The ninth grade class of 2007-2008 will be the first to participate in the opportunity.

Cheri Pierson Yecke, K-12 Public Schools Chancellor says, "Students are required to enroll in a major area, no one has to graduate with a major. If you enroll and after a year or two you find it's not your thing, you can change it".

In February the list will go public, and by April students will begin making their choices for the following school year.
