Saturday night the "National Hook-Up of Black Women" for the City of Quincy held a candlelight vigil for the man respected by many.

Around 50 people of all ages filled the Gadsden County Courthouse, candles in hand, to honor the man that had so many dreams.

Alice Dupont, a member of the "National Hook-Up of Black Women," said, "Because Dr. King's dream is so important it is the thread that holds our community together. When I say our community, not just the black community, but the black and white community."

The 8th annual event featured song, prayer, and a reflection on the life and legend of Martin Luther King, Jr.
