Local Students Compete in Mathletes

Well the most talented mathletes answered questions such as this one in a breeze at the "Middle School Mathlete Competition".

106 students from thirteen schools across the Tallahassee region gather at FAMU-FSU's College of Engineering.

Kids buzz in on algebra, probability, statistics and geometry questions.

Teachers and students have been preparing for the competition since fall, but that doesn't mean these kids didn't get shaky in the knees.

Vipul Revuri competed and says, "You kind of forget your own name, all you have is that little piece of paper, and you just get tense and nervous, you have to relax and just do the problem and try and do your best".

Winners will receive trophies and will advance to the state "Math Counts" final held in Orlando, Florida.
