Tallahassee Police have not released new details on the condition or the identity of the man involved in a car accident on Tharpe Street and Old Bainbridge Road Wednesday.

The man was taken to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital after losing control of his car, hitting a telephone pole and then a gas station sign.

Tallahassee Police are at the scene of a car accident on Tharpe Street and Old Bainbridge Road in Tallahassee.

Officers say a man was driving on Tharpe Street going around 50mph when he lost control of his vehicle around 8:15 Wednesday morning. He hit a telephone pole and then slammed into a gas station sign.

The driver of the vehicle was taken to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.

Emergency officials said he was unresponsive at the time.

No other injuries were reported.
