Students give approval for the state to authorize universities to charge a fee for technology. The Florida Student Association endorsing the measure making its way through the legislature which would help universities become more technology savvy and save students from spending their tech money at off campus locations.
"The students themselves feel that a technology fee, and it might be as little as $200 to $300 a year, is worthy to have that fee in order for them to keep up with the technology boom," said Senator Al Lawson.
Students say they won't accept mediocrity, and they're willing to pay more for a higher quality education as long as the state matches their contributions.
