With election 2004 right around the corner, local college students are being urged to "get out the vote", and this year's message is coming in an unusual fashion, through music.
Florida A&M’s campus was cluttered with hip-hop musicians and students for "Be Out Day", an annual event on campus that encourages students to get out in the community and make a difference.
Brandi Tatum, a FAMU student government representative, said, “We have so much stuff going on. The band has done a wonderful job showing school spirit with us.”
Part of the mission Saturday was to educate and register 40,000 hip-hop voters by July.
