The Wakulla County Sheriff's Office has a new tool for patrolling and protecting our coastline.
Monday the sheriff gave us a look at a new boat that'll be used for domestic security and search and rescue operations.
The $125,000 boat was awarded to the Sheriff's Office by the Department of Homeland Security.
"If we have some kind of water-borne assault necessary because somebody had invaded from the coastline and was trying to do some harm to Tallahassee, our Capitol or even some industrial areas, we have this vessel," said Sheriff David Harvey.
This is now the third boat for the Wakulla Sheriff's Office that'll be shared with other neighboring counties.
