TALLAHASSEE - Change is in the air at the Leon County Animal Shelter.
Fees for adopting animals stay the same, but boarding fees will go up. Prices will be slashed in half if you're dropping off an animal from outside Leon County. The shelter is also adding spay and neuter services.
"We know for sure when an animal goes out into community, when it's adopted out, that it has been spayed and neutered before it goes out into the street," said John Calhoun, director of the center. "Now there are questions about whether that happens before they go into the public."
The animal shelter is providing the spay and neuter services with their brand new surgery center that opened last month.
