Georgia health officials say a computer disk containing the names, birth dates and Social Security numbers of 2.9 million Medicaid and children's health care recipients is missing.
The state says the security breach was reported by a private vendor with a contract to handle health care claims for the state.
There is no indication at this time that anyone has tried to gain access to the personal data on the disk.
