Officials say insurance companies in the Peach State took a big hit last week during the Arctic Blast.
Georgia Insurance Commissioner John Oxendine says the freeze is wrecking havoc on insurance companies costing them $25 million in one week.
Officials report having more than 4,500 claims filed for damages to homes, businesses and automobiles.
"Homeowner claims were predominately frozen pipes that caused water damage and the automobile claims were mostly accidents because of the icy roads" says, Oxendine.
Oxendine also says if residents have difficulty submitting claims they should call the Consumer Services Division at (404) 656-2070. The lines are open from 8 am to 7 pm.
