UPDATE 2/20 9:45pm

The Leon County Sheriff's Office is still looking for three men they believe shot a man inside his home.

Deputies received the call shortly after 10 Friday night.

The brother of the victim says the two had just returned from church when three men entered their home, told them to lay down, and began shooting.

A 17-year-old inside the home armed himself and returned fire.

He was shot in the pelvis, but is expected to survive.

Two other people in the home were not hurt.

Deputies say the suspects fled and were last seen running toward Tall Top Drive.

Leon County Sheriff's Office Press Release: 10-20-10at 12:45 a.m.

This evening at approximately 10:15 p.m. Leon County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to 4400 Buster Road in reference to the report of a 17 year-old who had been shot during a reported attempted home
invasion robbery.

The preliminary investigation indicates that at least three black males, wearing all black clothing, armed with at least one handgun forced entry into the residence, through a back door, and began to fire multiple gunshots.

A 17 year-old who was inside the residence armed him and returned fire.

Two other subjects who were in the residence were not injured during the exchange of gunfire.

The 17 year-old suffered what appears to be a non-life treating gun-shot wound to the pelvis and has been transported to the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital Emergency Room for treatment.

The suspects fled the residence and were last seen running toward the direction of Tall Top Drive.

Sheriff’s deputies and Tallahassee Police Officers are searching the area for the suspects or any evidence.

It is unknown if any of the suspects were struck when the 17 year-old returned fire.

I fully support the 17 year old. Just like him I would have grab my shot gun too. You are crazy if you do not protect yourself. You do have a right to protect yourself and if those men broke into the home I promise you it wasn't to visit. Even if it was a drug deal gone bad, the kid did the right thing. He protected his home and family. Willie Meigs, "shame shame shame"

Willie R. Meggs are you a police officer? If so i think that u need to find a different job u dont even know that we have the right to bare arms and what are you doing telling people that u are going to come after them sounds like you are just someone with nothing to do if u are an officer of the law you are probably one that makes up charges to convict people any way i think what the 17 year old did was a great and brave thing to do just should have atleast hit one of them in the head
