Many will celebrate Independence Day with fireworks. However, officials with a local animal shelters warn the loud noise could hurt your pet more than you know.
Forth of July fireworks can be a joy to watch and to hear, but it can be a pain for your pet.
Pat Simmons from the Tallahassee-Leon County Animal Shelter said, “It frightens animals and they'll take off."
The day following July 4 can be pretty busy for animals running loose in the streets that were irritated by the loud noise because of their extremely sensitive hearing.
Officials with the Animal Shelter and the City of Tallahassee suggest that pet owners who plan on using fireworks keep the animal indoors, not chained outside and to not take them with you to large firework displays.
