The fatal fall of a young man in Tallahassee earlier this week grabbed the attention of many folks. A police investigation concluded alcohol may have been a factor, but now friends have come forward saying there's another message in tragedy, one they hope can save the lives of others.
At 2 a.m. Tuesday morning, 24-year-old Brian McGregor fell 52 feet to his death at Kleman Plaza after attempting to ride down a stairwell banister. Now, friends have created a memorial to say goodbye.
The police investigation concluded alcohol may have been a factor, but friends say it was Brian's thrill seeking personality, not alcohol, that led to his death.
Brian's friends say he was a big fan of reality TV where high risk stunts were performed, but they don't blame those shows, instead they have a message for parents.
“When you see risky behavior you need to be aware and step in, says Brian’s friend, Paul Hansen.
Paul says Brian had done crazier things than this but lived to tell about it. Now, he and August just don't want to see anyone else lose a friend to senseless stunts.
Friends say Brian was recently hailed as a hero after saving a friend from drowning this summer. Funeral services will be held in his hometown of Clearmont, Florida Saturday at noon.
