It was around 7:30 p.m. when witnesses say they were dining at Los Compadres on Pensacola Street when the manager started to evacuate all the customers.
Patrons say it didn't take much convincing to get them out into the parking lot, because they say they could see a lot of smoke coming from the ceiling in the dining room.
Ryan Adrick, a customer, said, "We just got done eating and my fiancé thought she smelled smoke. We look up and there it is."
Captain Rufus Graddy with the Tallahassee Fire Department, said, “When we arrived on scene there was heavy smoke coming from the roof. We attacked it and extinguished it.”
No one was injured during the two alarm fire. The investigation into the official cause is still ongoing.
