Around 9:45 p.m. Wednesday evening, 22-year-old Martisha Butler arranged to meet her ex-boyfriend, 25-year-old Brandond Quinn Hepburn, at her home on High Road to return his cell phone.
Tallahassee police say that's when an argument began. Hepburn grabbed his ex-girlfriend by the throat, pulled out his revolver and forced the young woman into his rented Jeep Cherokee.
Witnesses say Hepburn pointed the gun at them and threatened to shoot before speeding off.
At midnight Tallahassee police spotted the jeep at the Red Roof in on Hospitality Road off North Monroe Street. Both people were inside the vehicle in the parking lot behind the hotel.
Hepburn was taken to jail and charged with kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm by a violent career criminal.
