...JUNE 2010 TIED FOR THE 2ND HOTTEST JUNE ON RECORD AND WAS
ALSO WETTER THAN NORMAL FOR TALLAHASSEE...

THE AVERAGE MONTHLY TEMPERATURE FOR JUNE IN TALLAHASSEE WAS 83.8
DEGREES WHICH WAS 3.4 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL AND TIES THE 2ND HOTTEST
JUNE ON RECORD. THE HIGHEST TEMPERATURE DURING THE MONTH WAS 101
DEGREES ON THE 13TH WHICH SET A NEW RECORD FOR THAT DAY AND THE
LOWEST WAS 67 ON THE 2ND. ALSO, THE TEMPERATURE OF 100 DEGREES ON
THE 12TH AND 99 DEGREES ON THE 15TH BOTH TIED PREVIOUS RECORDS FOR
THOSE DAYS. THERE WERE 25 DAYS WHERE THE MAX TEMPERATURE REACHED 90
DEGREES OR HIGHER WHICH WAS 6 ABOVE NORMAL.

THE FOLLOWING ARE THE TOP 5 HOTTEST JUNES ON RECORD:

RAINFALL AT THE TALLAHASSEE REGIONAL AIRPORT FOR JUNE MEASURED 7.99
INCHES...1.07 INCHES ABOVE NORMAL. THERE WERE 13 DAYS WITH MEASURABLE
RAINFALL WHICH WAS 1 ABOVE NORMAL. THE GREATEST AMOUNT IN A 24-HOUR
PERIOD WAS 1.90 INCHES ON THE 25TH. THERE WERE 17 DAYS WITH
THUNDERSTORMS AT THE AIRPORT WHICH WAS 3 ABOVE NORMAL. THE PEAK WIND
GUST WAS 40 MPH FROM THE SOUTHEAST ON THE 20TH.

THE OUTLOOK FOR JULY FROM THE CLIMATE PREDICTION CENTER CALLS FOR
AN ENHANCED CHANCE FOR ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES AND EQUAL CHANCES FOR
BELOW...NORMAL OR ABOVE NORMAL RAINFALL. THE AVERAGE MONTHLY TEMPERATURE
FOR JULY IS 82.4 DEGREES AND NORMAL RAINFALL IS 8.04 INCHES.

ACCORDING TO THE CLIMATE PREDICTION CENTER THERE IS A 46% CHANCE
THAT THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE FOR THE 3-MONTH PERIOD FROM JULY
THROUGH SEPTEMBER WILL BE ABOVE NORMAL (> 81.4 DEGREES)...A 31% CHANCE
NEAR NORMAL (80.6 - 81.4) AND A 23% CHANCE BELOW NORMAL (< 80.6).
