Hotel officials across the Tallahassee area say there are few rooms left, and many tell us, like the Motel Six on North Monroe, they are all booked up!
Just down the road at the Days Inn they say their rooms are going fast with people booking rooms for as long as five days.
"And we had to get out on account of Frances chasing us out of our homes for awhile,” says Doris Seegers from Barefoot Bay, Florida.
"I was on the telephone most of the morning and no body wants dogs and I have three of them and a cat,” Stacy Windle from Port St. Lucie says.
One hotel filled more than 30 rooms Thursday, and that was just from walk-ins since the phone line was down!
The Capital Area Red Cross opened one of its shelters at 7 p.m. Thursday night, at the Church of Latter Day Saints on Thomasville Road.
