A son-in-law and grandson of Florida State football coach Bobbie Bowden have been killed in a rainy head-on collision in the Panhandle.
Officials say their car collided with a Texas utility truck heading into the state on Interstate 10 to help with Hurricane Frances recovery efforts.
Troopers say 45-year-old John Madden and his teenage son Bowden Madden of Shalimar were killed instantly in the collision Sunday night.
Both vehicles veered across the highway median, with the Madden’s colliding with the truck and a van.
