News Release: Florida Agency for Health Care Administration
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida Agency for Health Care Administration recently filed a Freedom of Information Act request for documents related to the processes at federal Veterans Affairs (VA) hospitals in Florida. Last month, the Agency requested the information relative to the risk management and quality assurance utilized by the Veterans Integrated Service Network 8 hospitals located in Florida. The Agency only received very limited information from the VA in response.
Secretary Dudek said, “The Agency expected the VA to be transparent and make its information readily available; however, they did not voluntarily provide critically needed information so we filed a Freedom of Information Act request. Florida Veterans and their families deserve answers from the VA and our Agency remains firmly committed to helping Governor Scott provide those answers so that we can ensure our brave veterans and their families receive the care they deserve.”
