Tallahassee, FL - The African Children's Choir stopped in Tallahassee tonight.
From Uganda to South Africa, these children traveled across the ocean to perform here in America. They were at the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church Friday.
Reverend Al Williams, Bethel Missionary Baptist Church: "Their joy in their performance is a testament to how they can respond to life's challenges."
Many of the children performing have lost one or both parents.
They hope their music helps raise awareness for those orphaned children in Africa.
Ralph Johnson, Bethel Missionary Baptist Church: "I was expecting them to be older, but for their age I think it's great. I think it is very important to show that children who may come out of disadvantaged backgrounds who may have had some difficulties in life that having those difficulties and challenges does not make them weaker..."
All proceeds collected during the intermission of the performance went towards the African Children's Choir Program and educational programs it supports.
