Annual Christmas Tree Lighting in Valdosta

The annual Christmas Tree lighting was held tonight in Valdosta.

The tree lighting has been done in front of City Hall downtown for the last 20 years.

Valdosta's mayor John Gayle and Santa Claus himself lit the tree around 6PM.

The tree is about fifty feet tall. It's artificial and comes in sections which allows the city to add to its height if needed.
