The Marianna liquor store clerk shot last month during an attempted robbery is now out of the hospital. 39-year-old Troy Groth returned home this past Sunday
"It's a blessing to be here. I thank the Lord that I'm here every day," said store clerk Troy Groth.
One look at the Big Star Liquors store surveillance video from January 18th and you can see why Groth is happy to be alive.
"I'm grateful to the Lord," said Groth.
Groth was working that night when two men tried to rob the store. Marianna Police said Hakhelius Moore, 18 years old, walked inside and immediately pulled out a gun. Groth instantly reacted with his own weapon and the two men exchanged fire.
"Whenever I sit there on my computer I always have my gun," said Groth.
It ended with the suspect running out of the store and Groth with gun shot wounds to the arm and neck.
"When you were making that 911 call, what was going through your mind?," asked WCTV's Bryan Anderson.
"I honestly believed that I was dying," said Groth.
Groth spent more than two weeks in the hospital. He was released Sunday February 5th and went back home with his parents where a nurse comes by weekly to check on his condition.
During Thursday's interview, Groth also opened up about the man charged with his shooting.
"I would pray to God that Mr. Moore would hopefully get the help he needs in prison and be rehabilitated," said Groth.
Having gone through such a traumatic experience, Groth said it's helped him appreciate all that life has to offer.
"I thank God to be here and I'm thankful for my friends for helping me through this difficult ordeal," said Groth.
Groth said this was the third time he was robbed in his nine years at Big Star Liquors. He said he's not sure if he'll go back this time.

WCTV has obtained new surveillance video and the 9-1-1 call made during an attempted armed robbery at a liquor store in Marianna.
The incident took place at the Big Star Liquors off Pennsylvania Avenue last Wednesday.
Around 7:20 p.m. last Wednesday, Hakhelius Moore, 18 years old, walked towards the front door of Big Star Liquors off Pennsylvania Avenue. This as store clerk Troy Groth, 39 years old, sat behind the counter with no idea what was about to happen.
Seconds later, Moore walked inside and both lives changed forever.
"As he approached the clerk, the clerk drew a pistol and pointed back at the suspect," said Marianna Police Chief Hayes Baggett.
The two immediately exchanged gunfire, with bullets hitting bottles of liquor, the laptop on the counter, and Groth in the arm and neck. Then, the surveillance video shows Moore running to the back of the store, acting as if he was about to flee. But unfortunately for Groth, that was not the case.
"He goes around and approaches the door like he's going to leave, then turns around and comes back and starts firing at the clerk again. At that time the clerk retrieved another firearm he had and returned fire once again," said Baggett.
After Moore finally left, Groth who was badly wounded, stumbled to the phone to make this 911 call.
"Dispatch: 911 what's your emergency?"
"Clerk: Help, Help!"
"Dispatch: What's going on?"
"Clerk: I'm dying, help!"
"Dispatch: What's going on sir?"
"Clerk: Help, I'm dying!"
"Dispatch: Hello?"
"Clerk: Big Star Liquors. I've been shot."
"Dispatch:You've been what?"
"Clerk: Shot."
"Clerk: (Inaudible)"
"Dispatch: Ok hold on."
"Clerk:I'm dying."
"Dispatch: Where are you shot at?"
"Clerk: I'm dying."
"Dispatch Where have been shot at sir?"
"Clerk: In the neck."
Paramedics quickly got to the scene and rushed Groth to the hospital, and officers flooded the area, catching both Moore and his accomplice Deontrey Granberry.
"It's 26 seconds someone's life, or two peoples' lives changed dramatically, or three if you want to throw in the third guy," said Baggett.
Moore and Granberry both face charges in this incident. According to the police department, the victim's family said Groth was in stable Condition Monday night.

Agree about noise! Don't know about the rest. They are not exactly overpaid.
Actually, you can tell from the vid. Little or no training in instinct shooting or tactics. One thing was very good, he was set up to see the guy coming -- I think that was the feed from his outside cam he was watching on the monitor. Bad things -- stuff on counter blocking his field of fire, did not have a pre-set fire-point, and had to stand up to get a shot. But mostly, just missed due to massive flinching. Like you say, who could blame him, but still, it was just dumb luck he survived what should have been a slamdunk goodguy victory given his very good perimeter surveillance and righteous attitude. Needs a bigger gun, too. My opinion -- coming into a store should be tantamount to walking into a well-executed ambush...
You need a new trainer. I know he hasn't had any professional training because I know what it looks like when it is put to the test. I know that a well trained person is very hard to surprise, and even harder to surprise when they are sitting in a thug thick environment. Simple stuff. Fundamental basic stuff.
