Bomb Threat at Jefferson County High, Student Arrested

Jefferson County, FL - A 13 year old student has been arrested for calling in a bomb threat at Jefferson County High School.

Students were evacuated and the school was on lockdown for nearly three hours while bomb-sniffing dogs scoured the school.

The 13 year old is now facing a felony charge for it.

The Jefferson County Sheriff confirms someone called in a bomb threat at Jefferson County High School this morning and students were evacuated as a precaution.

Sheriff David Hobbs says the call came in at about 10:30 this morning.

Hobbs says they brought in bomb-sniffing dogs to search the school, but found nothing.

Hobbs says the school lockdown has just been lifted and students have returned to class.

Deputies are now trying to track the call.

The sheriff would not give any more specifics about the threat itself or say whether the caller was a man or a woman.
