Friday was the change of command at Moody Air Force Base.
But it's hotel managers and hospital administrators a like who are taking honorary positions.

30 respected citizens around the greater Valdosta area are joining squadrons to learn more about the inner workings of the Air Force.
The civilians will periodically spend time building better understanding of the military's daily functions.
One hotel manager says he's just excited to get his hands dirty.

"But then again I might like that, I'd get to crawl around these aircraft and see what they're all about and possibly maybe fly in one of them one of these days," says Ron Wilson, General Manager of the Holiday Inn in Valdosta while standing next to a special ops helicopter talking to Eyewitness News reporter Greg Gullberg.

"We're going to invite [our honorary commander] to pretty much every squadron event that we have. He'll get a chance to come on and get a tour of the squadron and see all the lovely aircraft that you see behind me," Lt. Col. John Frazier, tells Gullberg.

The previous group relinquished command to the new comers.
Each group lasts one year.
