Quincy, Fla. 5-2-13
Dozens of people in Gadsden County gathered to pray as part of the National Day of Prayer.
The service took place outside the courthouse in Quincy and featured more than a dozen speakers from different churches. This year's theme was 'Praying For A Better Tomorrow.'
The Open Door Male Choir also performed a song speaking of the power of prayer. Sheriff Morris Young of the Gadsden County Sheriff's Office says it's nothing new for the community to come together.
"We see a lot of tragic things in our community and we want to make sure that we let the community know that we're praying about that and we want to make sure that we keep each other in prayer," said Young.
About 70 people attended and lunch was served after the hour long service that began at noon.
