According to the Florida Department of Elder Affairs, the state of Florida has more than 4.5 million residents ages 60 years and older.

More than 44,000 of those residents live in Leon County.

That's less than 1% of the state's 60+ population.

Over 200 baby boomers applied for the chance to live in Tallahassee for a year... for free... all thanks to Choose Tallahassee!

Four runners-up in the contest have left their home states for a free weekend in Florida's Capital City.

Local leaders will officially welcome the seven retirees to Tallahassee during tonight's reception at the Double Tree Hotel.

The event is from 5:30-7:00 pm.
