The food, the music, the vendors - did we mention the food?

It all makes up the Friday night block party hosted by FSU.

"Bands, music, it's just fun, it's a good time, everybody should come out," said Chris Robinson, a vendor at the event.

The block party takes over Kleman plaza and much of downtown.

The event is held each year to celebrate FSU's spring football game, which will be Saturday.

"Everyone used to just come in town for the Saturday night game or the Saturday games, we try to create an event where people can come into town for the whole weekend," said Drew Longenecker with the marketing department at FSU.

Organizers hope this event is not only a good time, but also a boost for businesses.

"It certainly brings in a bunch of people from out of town and boost the local economy here in Tallahassee," Longenecker said.

The event ran from 6 to 10 pm. People of all ages were able to enjoy the fun activities and see things like the Heisman trophy - a precursor to the fun fans hope to have at the FSU spring football game.

The Garnet and Gold game is Saturday at 2 p.m. Both entry to the game and parking are free.
