Tallahassee, FL - Some local residents got together and threw on their dancing shoes.
The Florida State Swing Dance Club hosted its monthly Market Sqaure dance event. Members invited the public out for free to learn about swing dancing.
They held it at Market square from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
They host the event the first Sunday of each month and hope it continues to grow.
"Swing dancing, particularly lindy hop, is the American folk dance. It, along with jazz were born on our soil. It's a combination of African American and Euopean American cultures that came together and created this amazing American dance," said Rebecca Strickland with the FSU School of Music.
Everyone danced to the sounds of local band Bouncehouse.
Gordos and Lofty Pursuits co-sponsored this event to help make it all possible.
