The Centers for Disease Control calls this year's flu season the worst in recent memory.
Winter brings those higher number of flu cases. Dr. Sam Ashoo of Tallahassee Memorial Hospital says everyone can catch it especially the most vulnerable.
"The bulk of our patient population has been the geriatric and pediatric flu cases," said Ashoo.
Many seniors have already gone out and gotten the annual flu shot to help with the first round of defense.
""I'm in my 80's and I think we're more susceptible to communicable diseases that way," said John Haynes who already got his shot.
With at least a couple more months of cold weather remaining, the number of diagnosed cases is sure to climb.
