Foster Named Publisher at NW Florida Daily News

FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- The publisher of a North Carolina newspaper will be the next publisher of the Northwest Florida Daily News.

Skip Foster will oversee the daily newspaper based in Fort Walton Beach as well as weekly newspapers in Crestview, Destin, Milton and Walton County.

Foster has been the publisher at the Shelby Star in Cleveland County, N.C., since 2007. Halifax Media Group owns both the Shelby Star and the Northwest Florida Daily News.

Foster told the Daily News that he looks forward to leading the newspaper in a "growing and vibrant market."

Foster was editor of the Shelby Star for 10 years before becoming its publisher. He also served as the managing editor at the Gaston Gazette in Gastonia, N.C. He is a native of Lakeland.
