October 4, 2013 - At 3:12 this morning, the Tallahassee Fire Department responded to the report of a house fire in the 400 Block of Gaile Avenue. A neighbor called 9-1-1 after seeing flames in the area. Firefighters arrived to a single-story 1,000 square-foot home fully involved in fire.
Firefighters pulled multiple hoses to extinguish the blaze and called the fire out at 3:36 a.m. Firefighters did not find anyone home at the time of the fire and later determined that no one was living in the home.
The fire resulted in an estimated $80,000 in damages, resulting in a total loss to the property. A neighboring home also received minor heat damages due to the size of the fire. No injuries were reported at the scene and the Tallahassee Fire Department was assisted on scene by the Tallahassee Police Department and Leon County EMS.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s office, with assistance from the Tallahassee Fire Department.
