Cairo, GA- Residents in Grady County welcomed a special visitor Tuesday.
Congressman Sanford Bishop, Jr. from the 2nd District of Georgia spent the day in Cairo, visiting many places including City Hall, the Jackie Robinson Boys and Girls Club, and the Grady County Historical Society.
Congressman Bishop says he's grateful for this time to connect with his constituents, city and county officials.
"We can know first hand, what do these citizens want? What do these communities need? What's on the minds of folks? So when we go back to Washington, we are armed with that information and we're empowered to work for and on behalf of the people we represent," he said.
Congressman Bishop was also on site Tuesday morning for the ground breaking of Cairo's Tired Creek Recreational Park.
