Associated Press Release
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) -- A Georgia man accused of trying to access confidential information being stored in the State of Alabama computer system has been arrested.
Alabama Attorney General Luther Strange said Thursday that 19-year-old Thomas Jack Hixon, of Chickamauga, Ga., surrendered to authorities at the Calhoun County Sheriff's office.
Strange says Hixon is accused of computer tampering and seeking to obtain criminal offender record information under false pretenses. Authorities say the man violated the Alabama Digital Crime Act and may face prison time and fines for each criminal charge.
It's unclear if Hixon has an attorney.
