Good Samaritan Helps Crash Victim Pinned Under Truck

Taylor County - December 1, 2012

A motorist riding by discovered an overturned pickup truck in the woods on Jody Modgan Grade and helped the victim Saturday at 5:45am in Taylor County.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Amy Dice, 26, was pinned under the vehicle, which was on its roof. It's believed the crash occurred at about 2:00am, but the exact time of the crash is unknown.

FHP says it was reported to 911 at about 5:45am by the passer-by motorist, who assisted the driver from the scene by transporting the injured driver to town to receive medical treatment.

The release says they think Dice's truck was traveling east on Jody Morgan Grade and she failed to follow a curve to the left.

Dice's vehicle went off the right side of the road and overturned.

FHP says Dice was ejected and then pinned under the truck. She was airlifted to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital from another hospital.

Taylor County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene. FHP collected blood sample for DUI investigation. All charges are pending. Dice was not wearing a seatbelt and was listed in serious condition.
