School is around the corner and health officials are asking parents to prepare.
The Leon County Health Department held back-to-school immunizations Saturday.
They provided kids with free immunizations, yes free.
But, this is no back-to-school special, they don't charge to give shots year round.
During this time they're extending office hours to get kids ready for school regarding their health.
"I don't think there's anything more disappointing for children than to go to school on the first day and find out that they're not able to go because of the no shots, no school. So I urge every parent with a kindergarten or 7th grade child to double check to make sure that the school has on file all the necessary immunization record," said Ann Waltz, a registered nurse with the Leon County Health Department.
She also says try not to wait until the last minute.
