A high speed chase ended in a wreck when a truck flew off the road Sunday morning.
Lowndes County Deputies chased the fleeing truck until the driver lost control and crashed. It came to rest buried deep in the brush after slamming into a tree.
Deputies on scene and Georgia State Patrol troopers say the truck may have been stolen, but they couldn't confirm that Sunday. Troopers do say drugs and alcohol were involved.
Troopers say the driver lost control about 9 am Sunday morning in the construction zone on Highway 84, just West of Downtown Valdosta, taking the turn onto West Street too fast while trying to evade deputies.
Troopers say three Valdosta residents were in the black Toyota Tacoma. But the truck didn't belong to any of them.
42 year old Don Juan Richardson was in the driver's seat. He was arrested on scene.
Two women were with him. 40 year old Willie Fiffie and 51 year old Geraldina Pittman were both rushed to South Georgia Medical Center by ambulance.
The Lowndes County Sheriff's Department was unavailable for comment.
