Tallahassee, FL - April is National Sexual Violence Awareness Month. The I Heard Your Cry Foundation says the long-term effects of inadquate support in the wake of sexual violence can be devastating. The Foundation says it hopes the dolls will not only raise awareness of sexual violence, but will also comfort victims.
"We just want your dolls to be able to give someone; a young girl or woman, just to say 'this is you, this is a new beginning, a new start for you to be handled with care'", says Sandra Collins, President of I Heard Your Cry Foundation.
If you would like to donate a doll to the "Handle Me With Care" doll drive, collection boxes will be set up at City Hall, the Longhorn Steakhouse and Red Lobster restaurants on North Monroe Street, and the Los Amigos Mexican Restaruant on Capital Circle.
