Valdosta, GA - More than a dozen teachers in the Valdosta City School system were suprised with iPads today for their students.

Donna Campa, Teacher SL Mason Elementary: "I cannot wait to use these! The kids they ask every day because they knew we applied and they have been waiting to hear a response."

The application was for Operation upBound, which surprised fifteen teachers with iPads for their students, all thanks to the U.S. government.

Danielle White, Valdosta City Schools: " We have a race to the top grant which is a grant offered through the federal government. We are in the last year of our grant and through that grant we have been able to put, well this will make, over eight hundred iPads in the hands of our students."

Donna Campa, Teacher SL Mason Elementary: "It helps me be a better teacher because this is what they are growing up with. We didn't have this you know when I was going through school, internet access and all that. So I have to be were they are and this helps me."

Over the last two years students in the Valdosta school system have gotten more than 300,000 dollars worth of iPads.
