Grady County, Georgia - August 18, 2012
An inmate at the Grady County Jail has killed himself.
28-year-old Jonathan Hunter hanged himself Saturday. Hunter is from Cairo, GA. He's been in jail since last Thursday for violating his parole. Sheriff Young says Hunter never said anything about wanting to kill himself.
Sheriff Young said Hunter used sheets from his room to hang himself in the bathroom. This is the first time the Sheriff has witnessed a hanging at the jail. This is still an ongoing investigation.
Sheriff Young believes that Hunter hanged himself because he was waiting for his trial and suspected he would have to go back to jail.
