Tallahassee, FL - There are currently 16 jobs available with the Consolidated Dispatch Agency at the Public Safety Complex.
Qualifications for the job are: Must be a U.S. Citizen, high school diploma or equivalent recognized certificate, three years of full-time public contact work that included customer service, be able to type at least 35 words per minute, achieve a minimum score of 85% on a Communications Center simulation test and pass polygraph, psychological screening, background investigation and interview with Communications supervisors.
The job starts out at $13.97 a hour and comes with benefits. It's a 12 hour work shift from 6:00A.M. - 6:00P.M. or vise versa.
A more than 20 year veteran in the field said this job can be rewarding. "You touch more lives in a day than most people do in their entire life, You may take 24-30-40 calls and it just kind of branches out, how many families do you help," Will Blanton, Public Safety Dispatcher.
