TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- The Tallahassee Barristers Association and other local attorneys gathered to issues a statement in support of Judge Judith Hawkins and express their disagreement with the Judicial Qualification Committee which wants to see her removed from the bench.
Attorney Benjamin Crump was in attendance and said, "We want the community and the court to know that we believe Judge Hawkins needs to be allowed to continue to serve after she's paid whatever retribution she has, for whatever charges that they found to hold her accountable for. But we don't think her career should be ended over this."
According to the JQC, Judge Hawkins abused her position as a judge by selling religious materials at the courthouse.
