They say it's never too soon to teach your kids how to save money. Today some local parents did just that.
First Florida Credit Union on Raymond Diel Road in Tallahassee held a Money Savvy Kids Day, today.
Dozens of parents and children learned from credit union experts on how to save money using the Money Savvy Pig. The piggy bank has different compartments for savings, investments, donations and spending.
"At that early age they don't understand the differences between the spending and the saving and the donating. At that age, all they want to do is spend their money. And we want them to have the ability to learn that if they save their money for future goals, money can actually grow in their account," Jimmy Manos, Marketing Coordinator of FFCU said.
The event was free and each child received a Money Savvy Pig. There was also face painting and refreshments.
