Tallahassee, FL - Wednesday would've been Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s 85th birthday.
Earle Lee, the director of the Boys Choir of Tallahassee, was the speaker at Wednesday's Martin Luther King Jr. celebration.
Leon County Commissioner Bill Proctor and the MLK Foundation sponsored the observance program at the Leon County Courthouse to pay tribute to King's dream of freedom and equality.
Leon County Administrator Vincent Long says, "That's worth fighting for. That's worth the risk and that's worth doing something about individually. That's also why we're here."
Bethel A.M.E Church in Tallahassee, the Suwannee River District Boys Scout of America, and local elementary school students Graham Hackley and Mailey Stoddard were honored during the program.

Leon County Commissioner Bill Proctor and the MLK Foundation of Florida, Inc. invite the public to attend a celebration to observe the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. in the Leon County Courthouse North Rotunda.
Mr. Earl Lee, Director of The Boys Choir of Tallahassee will be the speaker for the occasion. Leon County Commission Chairman Kristen Dozier will bring greetings.
The honorees for this occasion will be Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church and the Suwannee River Area Council, Boys Scout of America.
A lunch buffet will be provided following the program.
