Tallahassee, FL-You can still make out the faded Lincoln 2013 that was tagged in green-spray paint on some of the sidewalks at Florida High. It is one of several Tallahassee high schools vandalized last week.
"We are so sorry that, that happened to your school, but that is absolutely not a representation of Lincoln," said Lincoln High School senior, Rysa Ruth.
Deputies arrested four Lincoln High seniors. They face trespassing and criminal mischief charges in connection with last week's crime.
The Superintendent's Office says all four students are suspended and will not participate in graduation ceremonies.
But now these Lincoln High students are trying to send a different message.
"Even if some people do bad, we are able to say, 'Hey, that's not us. We're better than this," said Ruth.
The students are hanging up signs that says things like 'Lincoln Loves Florida High' while passing out candy and cards with a written apology done on behalf of Lincoln's student body.
The students are doing it at all the schools that were hit.
It's a message Florida High Senior Isabella Yue says has come at the right time.
"We really need this boost of morale knowing that it is the end of the school year, we really wanted to end on a good note and we really appreciate Lincoln students coming by and giving their gratitude and thank you," said Yue.
Lincoln students also gave Florida High new flags to replace the ones damaged in the vandalism.
