Thomasville, GA - Parts of the Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville were shut down today for a armed gun man drill.

That's right it was a drill.

From 9 to 11 this morning, staff and police acted as though there was an active shooter at the medical center.

With gun shot victims, fire arms and emergency response teams set up the drill launched with a success.

The Archbold Medical Center Emergency Coordinator, Charles Winchester said "This is purely a training exercise for the community as well as hospital staff. As well as the emergency management agencies. Law enforcement, fire, even our patients and visitors. So that we can start that forward thinking process on how we would respond if this event were to occur."

And although it was a training exercise, everyone acted like it was a real life event in order to prepare for one in the future.
