Tallahassee, FL - The FSU Police Department, Tallahassee Police Department, and the Leon County Sheriff's Office presented FSU Head Football Coach Jimbo Fisher with a check Thursday afternoon.

The $6,000 donation will support Jimbo and Candi Fisher's "Kidz1stFund."

The fund raises awareness and money for research to fight Fanconi anemia -- a rare but serious blood disease in children.

The Fishers' youngest son has the disease.

Coach Fisher says, "We started it for our son. But, when you walk in and see a family and they can see hope for the future of their son and what this all means; this is what it's all about."

The officers raised the money through "The Capital City Challenge", which is an annual police motorcycle competition at Doak Campbell Stadium.

Over the past three years, they've donated more than $15,000 to Kidz1stFund.
