Tallahassee, FL - A group of local track stars is going for the gold!

The Capital City Christian Cruisers (CCCC) are heading to the Junior Olympics.

Eleven-year-old, Miahna Harden, says, "It's so awesom because it's going to be my second year. I'm going for the gold. Whoo hoo. Last year, it was my first time. I got 6th in the 100 and came in 9th in the 200 and 3rd in the 400."

To get to the Junior Olympics, Harden says, "It takes a lot of training and conditioning and running."

Eleven-year-old Campbell Hart, says, "It feels good because I might win a gold medal or money. I practice a lot with my team and so I won a few races."

The team is a ministry under the non-profit, "Winning America's Youth", which is dedicated to reducing at-risk youth entering the justice system...

Twenty-two youth from the team have qualified for the AAU National Track and Field Junior Olympics.

The Junior Olympics will be held in Des Moines, IA on July 28 - August 2, 2014.

Press Release: WAY Ministries

The WAY (Winning America’s Youth) Ministries of Tallahassee, Inc. is a non-profit youth organization established in 1994. This year we celebrate 20 year of service in Tallahassee and surrounding communities.

One of our main outreach ministries at The WAY Ministries is the Capital City Christian Cruisers (CCCC) Track and Field Club. This Club is open to boys and girls ages 5-18. Established in 1995 CCCC's cornerstone is our dedication to reduce the number of at-risk youth entering the juvenile justice system by providing educational and socially acceptable recreation and leisure-time activities.

CCCC competes yearly, in local and state track meets. This has been our endeavor since our conception. Since May 2014 we have qualified 22 youth to compete in the AAU National Track and Field Junior Olympics, which will be held in Des Moines, IA on July 28 – August 2, 2014. Our Athletes will compete in events such as the long jump, shot put, triple jump, 80 meter hurdles, 100 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters, 800 meters, and 4x100 meters relay.

It is an awesome accomplishment to make it to the Junior Olympics and we are so proud of our athletes. We are raising funds to cover the cost for these athletes to attend the Junior Olympics.

On behalf of the youth of the CCCC Track and Field Club, thank you for your support.
