Mitchell County, GA - Moultrie Police say it started at Ponder's Seafood back on October 29th.

That's when they say Terrance Wheeler broke into the restaurant during the early morning hours and stole cash, cigarettes and a pistol.

Investigators believe the 26-year-old then fled to a relative's house in Mitchell County and that's when things took a fatal turn.

"Joe Williams died of a gunshot wound," said Agent Steve Turner with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. "His body has been sent for autopsy at this time. He was 76-years-old and was found at his house that was on 8877 Honeysuckle Road outside of Baconton."

Investigators say it appears there was a disagreement between the two men before Wheeler shot Williams. According to GBI, the two were cousins.

Wheeler has been charged with felony murder and aggravated assault.

He is also facing second degree burglary charges in Colquitt County, but for now he remains behind bars in Mitchell County.

Investigators say the gun stolen from Ponder's was not the one used as the murder weapon.
