Tallahassee, FL-December 9, 2012
Dozens gathered at Lake Ella in Tallahassee for the annual lighting of the Hanukkah menorah.
Hanukkah is a Jewish Holiday celebrated over 8 days and nights.
The holiday remembers the re-dedication of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem. A candle is lit each night to commemorate the occasion.
"This is the message of Hanukkah. It's a message of universal freedom for everyone, for Jews and non-Jews alike. And that's the message of America," says Rabbi Schneur Oirechman.
Sunday marks the second night of Hanukkah. This year's Menorah was 9 feet tall and made of more than 300 donuts.
